The Kindle Paperwhite (10th generation) is the fourth Paperwhite iteration destined to be the best selling Kindle model until Amazon introduces the next Paperwhite version, most likely in 2020.
Late last year Amazon introduced the 10th generation Paperwhite which drags down major changes like audible support and water-resistant and is the first introduced with Kindle Oasis 2. Which is also why it makes the most sense to people who are new to ebook readers. The Kindle Paperwhite covers most basics and strikes the right balance between the two. The basic Kindle has traditionally been too bare bone and the luxurious Oasis is a bit inaccessible for many. However, there are still circumstances in which they can be damaged by water.There is an obvious reason why Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite is the best selling Kindle model. Owners of water-resistant Kindle e-readers can use their devices in places where they can be exposed to water such as by the poolside, in the bathroom, or at the beach. Unfortunately, the entry-level Kindle and the top-of-the-line stylus-toting Kindle Scribe are not water-resistant. The IPX8 water resistance rating also extends to the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and the Kindle Paperwhite Kids. Alongside the Kindle Oasis (9th and 10th Generation), the Kindle Paperwhite (10th Generation released in 2019 and 11th Generation released in 2021) is also rated IPX8. It has an IPX8 rating, and according to Amazon, it will survive immersion in 2.0 meters of fresh water for 60 minutes and 0.25 meters of seawater for 3 minutes. The Kindle Oasis (10th Generation), which was released in 2019 and is the most recent iteration, is also water-resistant. The first Kindle with water resistance was the Kindle Oasis (9th Generation) released in 2017, ten years after the first Kindle e-reader was announced.
